Committee

Mayor Larry Jacobs is currently serving in his fourth term on the Township Committee.  He is the liaison to the Police Department, Municipal Court, Agricultural Advisory Committee, Board of Education, Library Board, Sewer Advisory Committee, BHHC and Land Use Board.  Larry championed the Bedminster Farmers Market and has been instrumental in expanding the shared court system.  He is an environmental attorney and is very active with the Raritan Headwaters Association.  His wife is the former President of the Bedminster PTO, and his four children all attended Bedminster School and Bernards High School.

Colin Hickey is currently serving in his second term on the Township Committee.  Colin was formerly the Chair of the Environmental Commission and a member of the Master Plan Review Committee.  He is currently the liaison to the Board of Health, Public Utilities, and IT Committee, and also serves on the Land Use Board, Farmers Market Committee and Agricultural Advisory Committee. A former long time resident of The Hills, Colin now lives in the Clucas Brook neighborhood with his wife Wendy, Chair of the Historic Preservation Committee.  Their daughter attended Bedminster School and Bernards High School, and is now a college senior.

Renee Mareski was elected to the Township Committee in 2018, and is currently serving her second term.  A native of Basking Ridge and a Bedminster resident since 1996, she was previously the President of Crestmont Neighborhood Association and a member of the Hills Village Master Association.  She is currently the liaison to the Environmental Commission, JVH and the Hills Master Associations, and was instrumental in the formation of the Bedminster Farmers Market.  An avid horse person, she volunteers her time performing riding therapy.  She and her husband Joe currently reside in the Hills.

Gina Lisa Fernandez is currently serving in her second term on the Township Committee. She is a teacher in Union County, and has been an active volunteer for years in both the Bedminster School system and the Girl Scouts of the USA. Gina is the Township Committee liaison to the Recreation Committee, Fall Fest Committee and the Community Development Block Grant Committee. She is also the primary interface for all HR related matters. Formerly a resident of Parkside now living in the Deer Haven neighborhood, Gina and her husband Gus raised their children in Bedminster, a place they proudly call home.

Doug Stevinson lives on Ski Hill Drive with his wife Suzie, a member of the Bedminster Board of Education. Doug and Suzie have sons who previously attended Bedminster School and now are in Bernards High School. Doug is an attorney and has been active with the Somerset Hills Little League (past president) and the Jacobus Vanderveer House (JVH). Doug is currently liaison to the Historic Preservation Committee, Department of Public Works, Fire & Rescue Squads and the Hills Master Associations. Doug spearheaded the efforts to improve the Dog Park in River Road Park and revitalize Pluckemin School House Park. Doug was first elected to the Township Committee in 2016.
